PERFECT MOMENTS ARE MYTHS - WE ARE NEVER READY.

Patience is a virtue. Having to wait on something or spend time expecting an effort to yield results isn’t simple at all. It requires a lot of discipline and perseverance. At too many points in life however, we find ourselves confusing either fear or simply a habit of procrastination for patience.

‘I need a huge capital’, ‘I’m not experienced enough’, ‘it’s too early for this’,’ I’ll do it later’, ‘I need to get perfectly ready’, ‘the time doesn’t seem right’. ‘Let’s wait for Monday or the first day of the year or month to begin’. These are just a few of the million lines we convince ourselves with while watching opportunities fly right past us. We make ourselves believe that we are being patient till were absolutely ready when in reality, it’s just the fear of failure or not being good enough.

We water the belief that certain time periods are ideal to take actions, implement change or begin anything and strengthen its roots in our minds. Beginning a business or working on an idea in the middle of the year, week, month or beginning a venture inexperienced doesn’t make it any less of a great venture. You give yourself an opportunity to learn, make up for the experience you lack and save yourself the regret of too much time wasted idly waiting to be ready.

Being ready is a myth. It’s just the excuse we give to procrastinate. The best we can do is be prepared for an experience. Read wide, seek explanations to things that are not clear, map out ideas and set up for execution.

As long as you hold age experience and readiness as the standard for taking action, you will never take action. You’d always find a reason why you’re not ready to take an opportunity. Sometimes all you have to do is go for it, start regardless of how little you have, put your mind to it and work hard to achieve your goals while figuring out what works and what doesn’t in the process.

Today is as good a day as any. Embrace new opportunities, go all out, and take one day at a time. It’s okay to start small, you’ll get there eventually. It’s okay to make mistakes, correct them and learn from them. Every Pro was once an amateur!
